Words With Families Saturday

Saturday, Read Titus 2:1, 15
A family is a unit of people who are related by marriage, blood or adoption. Members of the spiritual family, the “church”, are related in the Spirit, adopted by our heavenly Father through the shed blood of the Son.
Come with singing. See Eph. 5:19, Col. 3:16. In Acts 16:25, Paul and Silas sang in prison.
Hear Sound Doctrine. Doctrine divides but in a good way. There is a right and a wrong; the taught word of God tells us which is which.
Understand Preaching “you should teach” See 1 Cor. 14:15-20. For centuries, the Bible was not understood by the common people. Coming to church helps us understand more about God and know Him better.
Respond with action “rebuke” The difference in the wise and foolish builder is the righteous response to what is heard (Matt. 7:24).
Care for Others “encourage” How can you love your neighbor if you are not with them? You can be a Christian and not go to church, but not a good one who encourages others.
Hold your head up high. “Do not despise anybody” A woman too ashamed to come to church even though she was saved was afraid of what others would say. A kind older woman told her, “You just walk right in there with your chin up and head held high. It was for you the Son of Glory died!” None are saved because of who we are, but because of WHOSE we are! Don’t be afraid to come to church because of what you’ve done. Come to church as a child of the King!

Words With Families Friday

Friday, Read Titus 2:13-14
Paul encourages Titus about God’s glorious return. Our words with families should encourage us of God’s “Glory”.
Glad “blessed hope” The word blessed can also be translated as “happy” or “glad.” We Christians have hope that is very much something to be happy about.
Look for His “glorious appearing” Don’t you look forward to a vacation or holidays or seeing a long lost friend? We bring glory to God by looking for Christ’s return.
Owned by Christ. “His own special people.” We belong to Him. Isn’t it nice to be wanted?
Redeem “from wickedness” Think of the words starting with R. Redeem, rescue, relate.
Yielded to Him. “eager to do what is good” We glorify God when we yield our wills to His, especially when our will is not His will.

Words With Families Thursday

Thursday, Read Titus 2:11-12
Singles and widows are given “grace” (Gr: Charis) from God (see 1 Cor. 7:7 and Matt. 19:11). All receive grace in salvation, but those who are alone are given an extra measure of grace. Spell GRACE and remember those who are alone in your extended family and church family.
Godliness. Titus 2:12 says to deny ungodliness. True godliness is seen by God when no one else sees you. God sees the good you do when others do not and He will reward you .
Resist Temptations “wordly lusts” There is a difference between admiration and lust. When we are content and righteously fulfilled with what we have, we are free from lust. Such contentment is from God’s grace.
All Need Him “to all men” We must share God’s grace with all, with our words and with our lives. Without Him, all are utterly alone. With Him, we will never be forsaken.
Christlike lifestyle “live soberly” By living for Christ in a dark world, we shine like lights at night, like a city on a hill (Matt. 5:14).
Evangelism. “salvation has appeared” Grace has been defined as “God’s Riches At Christ’s Expense.” Evangelism is one beggar telling another where to find the bread of life, God’s grace and salvation.
